SILK MARK CERTIFIED

VAYAN SILKS is silk mark certified, meaning the products are pure natural silk & have been approved by the Indian government. The certification is managed by the 'Silk Mark Organisation of India', a society set up by the state-controlled Central Silk Board of India.

What is silk?


Silk is a very smooth, light fabric that's usually made of fibers from silkworm cocoons. Natural sheen, comfortable, easy & intact drape, warm in winter and cool in summer. There are a variety of silks manufactured in India namely, Tussar, Banarasi, Monga, Kanchipuram, Matka, etc.


How to take care of your silk?


> Dry clean only
> Do not store your silk in damp cupboard
> Do not store silk fabric for long in one place, hang it out & let it breathe fresh air
> Dry the silk under shade
> Use silica gel sachet while storing silk fabrics
> Iron in medium heat
> Store it in muslin cloth or saree bags


How to test your silk ?

  1. Do a touch test
  2. Consider the price
  3. Examine the lustre of the material
  4. Do a burn test if possible
  5. Consider a Chemical Test. 
  6. Real silk dissolves in bleach.
